Warm sand beneath your feet, a gentle breeze and the murmur of the sea in the background – for many, the beach of Mallorca is the very embodiment of a romantic location for their own wedding. The beach wedding is therefore enjoying ever greater popularity. To get married in this setting, however, a few things have to be organised in advance. With the following tips, a relaxed and romantic beach wedding on Mallorca is sure to succeed.

Set the dress code in advance

A beach wedding invites particularly casual attire, above all in warm temperatures. If, however, the bridal couple wishes for elegant clothing, as is fitting for a classic wedding, this should be discussed in advance and clearly stated accordingly on the invitation. Only in this way can unpleasant surprises à la shorts and bikini be avoided. Of course, a more relaxed style of dress may also be desired and can contribute to a particularly unusual and easy-going atmosphere. Which style of dress is wanted for the beach wedding ultimately depends entirely on the taste and style of the bridal couple. The bridal gown itself should also be suitably appropriate for a beach wedding, since long trains and high heels prove rather impractical in the soft sand. It is better to wear a light summery dress and to walk barefoot to the beach altar.

The wedding menu

At a beach wedding, the location and the type of wedding menu also have to be organised. To dine directly on the beach immediately after the ceremony, a shared barbecue under the open sky is an excellent choice. There is also the option, however, of renting a restaurant directly on the beach or the wedding hall in a beach hotel – this way a classic buffet can be offered and guests and bridal couple can carry on celebrating in a sheltered space when it grows cooler outside. Various hotels and restaurants, and in some cases even beach cafés, offer special arrangements for wedding parties, some of which also include overnight stays for the couple and the guests.

Music and decoration

Another important aspect for a successful beach wedding is music and decoration. Since at a wedding under the open sky it is not so easy to access power sockets, it is important to see to a sound system including a generator in good time, as well as to the appropriate lighting. Solar-powered lamps or wind-sheltered candles, for example, create a particularly romantic light. As for the music, the permission of the town must of course also be obtained and disturbances of the peace avoided.

Finding the right beach

Even though the wedding takes place under the open sky, it should naturally still be an intimate and personal celebration. To keep the ceremony as private as possible, a beach or a stretch of beach should therefore be chosen where the wedding party is spared the attention of onlookers.
