Same-Sex Wedding in Mallorca

Crown your love and enjoy your same-sex wedding in Mallorca.

Mallorca may not be the largest island, but it is definitely one of the most beautiful in the world. The landscape and the architecture are a delight to behold time and again, and they provide a wonderful backdrop not only as a location for film shoots, but also for weddings. Ever since same-sex couples have been allowed to marry in Spain, more and more lesbians and gay men have been discovering the island as a dream location for their big day. As varied as planning a holiday on Mallorca can be, so too are the many possibilities for arranging a same-sex wedding on Mallorca, the most beautiful island of the Balearics.

Where you hold your wedding ceremony on Mallorca is entirely up to you, and there is virtually no wish that has to go unfulfilled. The wonderfully beautiful sandy beaches offer a glorious setting in which, draped entirely in white linen, you can give your partner your “I do”. But the heart of Mallorca, the mountains and the unspoilt nature can also provide a marvellous backdrop for the wedding. Of course, the ceremony can also be held entirely in private at one of the many fincas with their dreamily large and sprawling grounds. Thanks to its location within Europe, Mallorca also lends itself to weddings for same-sex couples, since guests can travel to the wedding easily and inexpensively too. The flight time to Palma de Mallorca is not even quite two hours, and all year round you can get there and back by plane for around EUR 200.00. This means that family and friends can also be present at the extraordinary wedding on the Balearics and accompany the couple on this great step.

By choosing this special location as the venue for the wedding, you combine the ceremony and the celebration with the honeymoon all at once. After the intoxicating wedding celebration you do not have to set off straight to the airport; instead, the next morning you simply get up and step out of the door: before you lies a dream island with every conceivable activity on offer. If the guests do not depart again immediately after the wedding, you can spend a few more lovely days on the beach with them and, for example, take a diving course together or hire jet skis for a few hours and ride the waves. Puntorosso offers all kinds of activities.

The inhabitants of Mallorca know a thing or two about celebrating, and above all about food. The catering service will arrange the wedding to your wishes with the finest Spanish cuisine and serve the married couple and their wedding guests a true feast for the palate. At the wedding couple’s request, a bespoke menu can be put together. Mallorca will provide the wedding with magnificent weather with almost one hundred per cent certainty, as this beautiful island in the Mediterranean enjoys a remarkable 300 days of sunshine a year. So sunshine on the most beautiful day of your life is all but guaranteed!

The acceptance of same-sex couples on Mallorca has changed enormously in recent years. There are hotels and beaches where you will find almost exclusively lesbians and gay men. Some hotels and guesthouses have even specialised in accommodating same-sex couples and are mostly run by same-sex couples themselves. Same-sex couples are always welcome in the towns and cities too. Nevertheless, you should still avoid the typical family destinations, as experience shows that the level of acceptance there is lower. Anyone who, on their honeymoon after the ceremony, would like to go out in the evening and party a little should find out beforehand where the gay and lesbian scene is in the individual towns. There you will meet many like-minded people. The rest of the honeymoon you should of course enjoy arm in arm with your beloved on this beautiful sun-drenched island, setting off together, marriage certificate in your pocket, into a loving, long and shared future.

Neither the couple nor the family members and friends present will ever forget the wedding on Mallorca, for it is something very special and offers the perfect conditions in every respect for a breathtaking day! Same-sex couples, as well as all other couples, must find out precisely before the ceremony whether it will also be recognised in their home country. The laws on this are constantly being changed, but as a rule at least one of the two partners must have a place of residence in Spain for this marriage to be recognised in Germany afterwards. The situation is different, however, with free or religious ceremonies. Anyone for whom all of this is too much effort can of course also marry at the registry office in Germany and then hold the big celebration, including the ceremony, on the beach or at a finca on Mallorca. We at Puntorosso Weddings have specialised in supporting same-sex couples in planning their wedding on Mallorca. Take the plunge, and we will get back to you promptly.
