Palma and the surrounding area

There, on one side, you can admire the imposing La Seu Cathedral and the Almudaina Palace, and on the other side hundreds of boats and yachts along the promenade. From this point, other magnificent buildings and squares can also be reached on foot. These include the nightlife quarter "La Lonja", the "Es Baluard" museum of modern and contemporary art, and the splendid Fundació la Caixa building with its changing exhibitions. For shopping lovers, the Passeig del Born quarter is just a few steps away. With its little boutiques and splendid brand-name shops, it is like heaven on earth. After a long walk, it is always good to relax a little and enjoy a delicious meal. Palma is a place with a thousand possibilities, but in the summer months it is highly recommended to choose one of the many beach clubs or restaurants along the boulevard. This way you can avoid the centre if it gets too hot or too crowded, and fully enjoy the sea view and a gentle breeze. One option, for example, would be the Anima Beach Club. The club offers a relaxed atmosphere for conversation and a breathtaking view of the sea. The food there is delicious and very fairly priced. A more formal setting, well suited to a business breakfast, would be the Nassau Beach restaurant. From there you have a magnificent view of the sea and the cuisine is excellent. Things are a little trendier at the stylish Caballito de Mar restaurant. It is especially suited to casual meetings. The atmosphere is lively thanks to the popular boulevard. On the way into the mountains

About 20 minutes from the centre of Palma lies a magnificent mountain range. Your eyes will never tire of this grand and mighty gift of nature. The Serra de Tramuntana has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The extraordinary cliffs and the views of the sea make this place perfect for enjoying nature's gifts and switching off completely. This oasis allows you to forget all the cares of everyday life. At the foot of the mountain you'll find small places offering typical handicrafts and traditional dishes. In a broad valley at the foot of Mount Puig Major, the highest point on the island, lies the town of Sóller with its breathtaking harbour (Port de Sóller). Holidaymakers and business travellers alike should not miss this sight, as it is typically Mallorcan and the harbour enchants everyone. In the harbour you can enjoy drinks, tapas and complete Spanish dishes with a magnificent view of the sea. For lunch we can recommend, among others, the Es Canyis restaurant, which offers a rich selection of fresh shellfish and seafood as well as a charming setting. It is to be found on the left-hand side, which is the coolest in summer. From the terrace you can reach the beach.

Not to be missed

The town of Valldemossa is one of the most charming places on the island and the perfect spot for a visit in both high and low season. The stunning surroundings are characterised by carob, almond and olive trees. With its unique beauty and strikingly romantic charm, this splendid town is one of Mallorca's main attractions. Many famous visitors such as Chopin and George Sand were guests at the famous Carthusian monastery and described it as the place of their inspiration. In the town you'll find countless little boutiques and traditional shops where you can buy Mallorcan products, from handmade bags to lemon perfumes. On the many terraces you can enjoy a lovely cup of coffee in the afternoon or, depending on the season, an ice cream.
