Getting Married in Mallorca: The Ultimate Guide 2025 – Locations, Costs & Tips
Mallorca has been the number-one wedding destination for couples from Germany, Austria and Switzerland for decades. And for good reason: the combination of 300 days of sunshine, dramatic landscapes, first-class locations and a deeply rooted celebration culture makes the island unique. This guide gives you – as a wedding planner on the spot for over 20 years – everything you need to know to plan your dream wedding on Mallorca.
Why Mallorca is the best wedding destination in Europe
No other island in the Mediterranean combines so many advantages for a wedding: dreamlike natural settings, a sophisticated culinary offering, excellent flight connections from more than 100 European cities and a professional wedding-service scene. Couples from German-speaking countries particularly appreciate the short flight time (approx. 2 hours from most major German cities) and the comparatively uncomplicated entry within the EU.
- 300+ days of sunshine per year – reliable weather for outdoor ceremonies from April to October
- Diversity of landscapes – beach, mountains, vineyards, historic villages, harbour towns
- World-class gastronomy – from traditional Mallorcan cuisine to Michelin-starred restaurants
- Direct flights from all over Germany – Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Cologne
- Sophisticated wedding infrastructure – photographers, florists, caterers, DJs, bands – all on the spot
- A unique romance factor – sunsets on Mallorca are among the most beautiful in the world
The most beautiful wedding locations on Mallorca
The choice of location is the most important decision when planning your wedding on Mallorca. Over more than 20 years, Puntorosso has built up relationships with the most exclusive locations on the island – many of which cannot be booked publicly and are accessible only through us. Here are the most important categories:
Finca wedding on Mallorca
Rustic fincas are the most popular choice of location for weddings on Mallorca. These traditional country houses, surrounded by olive groves, almond trees and vines, offer a timelessly romantic atmosphere. The best fincas are located in the interior of the island – in the Serra de Tramuntana or around Binissalem, Felanitx and Campos. Many fincas offer exclusive booking (your party only) and can be rented for several days, which makes pre-wedding events and after-parties possible. Read more: Wedding Locations Mallorca.
Beach wedding on Mallorca
Getting married with the Mediterranean in the background – for many couples the very embodiment of romance. The most beautiful beach locations for weddings are at Cala d’Or, near Portopetro, at Playa de Muro in the north and at Cala Mondragó in the south. Important to know: in Spain, ceremonies directly on a public beach are regulated; Puntorosso finds exclusive beach-club locations or villas near the beach for you that offer the same sea view – without bureaucratic hurdles.
Wedding in Palma de Mallorca
Palma offers a completely different, urban-elegant wedding setting: historic city palaces (palauets) with medieval inner courtyards, rooftop terraces with a view of the Gothic cathedral, exclusive boutique hotels and the romantic harbour with its white yachts. A wedding in Palma is particularly suited to smaller, intimate parties and to couples who place architecture and culture above nature.
Luxury hotels & villas
For couples who want maximum comfort and 5-star service, Mallorca’s luxury hotels are an excellent choice: Park Hyatt, Cap Rocat, Belmond La Residencia, Son Brull and many more. These locations handle much of the coordination themselves and are particularly suited to larger parties of 80 people or more.
Best time to travel for a wedding on Mallorca
Mallorca can be used for weddings without any problem from April to October. The ideal months depend on your priorities:
Month Temperature Advantages Disadvantages April / May 18–24°C Spring feeling, almond and orange blossom, few tourists Occasional rainy days June 22–28°C Perfect weather, long evenings, not yet peak season Book early July / August 28–35°C Dreamlike summer, best evening atmosphere Hot, crowded island, highest prices September / October 22–28°C Golden autumn, grape harvest, more favourable prices Days grow shorter
Our recommendation: June and September are the months we most frequently recommend. Perfect temperatures, wonderfully beautiful light for photos and considerably fewer crowds of tourists than in high summer.
Wedding on Mallorca: what does it cost? (Cost overview 2025)
This is the question we hear most often – and the honest answer is: it depends very much on what you have in mind. Here is a realistic guide based on our experience with hundreds of weddings on Mallorca:

Legal matters: civil registry office and recognition in Germany
This is one of the most common misconceptions when planning a wedding abroad: a marriage on Mallorca is indeed valid and legally binding – but for recognition in Germany, additional steps must be taken.
Option 1: Civil marriage on Mallorca
A civil marriage on Mallorca is only possible if at least one partner is officially registered on the island (Empadronamiento) – for couples without a place of residence it is not possible. The standard route is therefore the legally valid marriage at the home registry office in Germany plus a free, symbolic ceremony on Mallorca. A marriage entered into in Spain is automatically valid in Germany; a subsequent registration is possible, but not mandatory. With apostille, translations and documents, Puntorosso provides support on request.
Option 2: Symbolic ceremony + registry office in Germany
The most common choice: the official civil marriage takes place in Germany (often in a small circle), and the big celebration is held as a free/symbolic ceremony on Mallorca. This option is less complicated bureaucratically and gives you complete creative freedom in designing your ceremony on the island.
Option 3: Religious wedding on Mallorca
A religious ceremony in one of Mallorca’s beautiful churches is possible, but requires church documents and coordination with the local parish. Puntorosso works together with German-speaking clergy.
Free ceremony on Mallorca
The free ceremony is the most popular form of ceremony for weddings on Mallorca. A free celebrant (master of ceremonies) creates, together with you, a completely individual ceremony that reflects your story, your values and your love. No fixed texts, no religious obligations – only what matters to you. Puntorosso works together with experienced German-speaking celebrants who take the time to really get to know you as a couple.
What makes a good wedding planner on Mallorca?
Not everyone who calls themselves a “wedding planner on Mallorca” has genuine local expertise. What you should look out for:
- Long-standing local presence – those who live and work on the island know the truly exclusive locations and have reliable contacts with the best providers
- German-speaking – misunderstandings at an event as emotional as your wedding are fatal; insist on a point of contact who speaks fluent German
- Full service – from the first conversation to the last dance, a planner should be able to coordinate every aspect
- Verifiable references – real photos, real reviews, real couples
- Transparent communication – a clear pricing structure, regular updates, no disappearing after the booking
